The past two weeks have been productive – and winning – ones for Mexico’s Eric Galvez on the pro squash tour.
Galvez survived a five-game battle with English pro Lewis Walters on Sunday to win the Charlotte Open’s championship match at the Charlotte Squash Club.
Galvez, the tournament’s No. 3 seed, beat the fourth-seeded Walters 11-6, 12-14, 11-8, 9-11, 11-8 to win his second Professional Squash Association title in an eight-day span.
“I’ve been training very hard the past two months,” said Galvez, who also won last week in Rochester, N.Y. “I’ve been playing for a long time and have some pretty good experience. But playing five games (Saturday) and five games today, I’m pretty tired now.”
